  • Combo hunts for bear + roe buck will be possible starting with the 1st of May
  • Starting with the 1st of September combo hunts are available for bear + stag + chamois + wild boar + fallow stag + roe buck and from the 1st of October until the 31st of December wing shooting and small game can be added.

  • Emil Ionut Negrusa has successfully passed the SCI Master Measurer Exams and the CIC Official Measurer Exams. Your trophies can from now on be officially measured, scored and registered at first hand, in the SCI and CIC data base accordingly with the regulations.
  • 2024

  • AUGUST 2024 - Brown bear hunting has been reopened after a break of 8 years. For 2024 and 2025 there is a quota of 426 bears which can be hunted all year round, without hunting season regulation. The hunts can be done using all legal hunting methods: waiting, stalking and driven hunts. The maximum export bear skin size is 420 CIC points. CITES document will be issued by the authorities for trophy exportation.

  • African Swine Fever is still a problem for the wild boar population but has slowed down spreading and some areas are building back and taking care of the wild boar populations.
  • Capercaillie hunting is open again with an autumnal season from 1st Oct until 15th November.
  • Commercial brown bear hunts are still forbidden, only problem bears can be shot by local authorities and hunting clubs employees.
  • Jackal population is spreading fast in territories where they never existed becoming a serious thread for small game and roe deer populations.
  • 2022

  • Hunting for all migratory birds has been reopen.
  • African Swine Fever continues to spread slowly in the country.
  • Capercaillie hunting has been reopen with an autumnal season of 3 months, but immediately the decision has been attacked in court and now the hunt is suspended again.
  • Wolf specimens remain on the list of totally protected wildlife.

  • Hunting for all migratory birds remains suspended.
  • The wild boar populations is reduced by hunting and ASF.
  • Due to heavy winter conditions and large number of wolfs, in some areas the red deer population has suffered significant losses.
  • 2020

  • Hunting for all migratory birds has been suspended.
  • The government has approved driven hunts for wild boars and has pushed the hunting areas to drastically reduce the population.
  • The African Swine Fever has seriously affected some of the best hunting areas of the country.
  • 2019

  • Due to ASF, the government has extended the hunting season for wild boars until 14th of May 2019, but limited to the annually Quota of each hunting area.
  • ASF has been first noticed in Romania in 2018. At the moment, Feb. 2019 the virus is spreading slowly through the country. Hopefully until now, the wild boar population is doing well and the virus is not causing big loss to the wild boars population.
  • Bear and Wolf Hunting is restricted in Romania since 2016. Hunting can be done in very limited number only for problem specimens in accordance with the laws.
